How to design the right merchandise for your target audience

You probably already made up your mind about the design of your merchandise. But there are a few important things you need to think about before you start. Curious? Keep reading and make sure that your design and choices will be perfect.
First of all, it’s important to identify your target audience, so ask yourself the question: who are these people? The key for designing and creating perfect merchandise is knowing what your audience like. To understand the people who will buy your product, you should become acquainted with them. You can do this the way you prefer. For example, do a little research about the following questions: what age do they have? What are their further interests? What is their stage of life? Are they college students? Parents? Retirees? Decide for yourself what the most important questions are.
The second thing that will help you designing the right merchandise is drawing a customer’s profile: this is a description of a customer that includes demographic and psychographic characteristics.
· The demographics characteristics involves the sex, age, level of education, nationality etc.
· The psychographic characteristics involves the goals, beliefs, needs, motivations and anxieties of the target audience
Why is it so important for you to know the right customer profile? Compare your merchandise with a ship and imagine your customer profile as your compass. Without it, you wouldn’t know which direction your ship has to take, and you end up nowhere. So, now that you know how to make the perfect merchandise, where are you waiting for?
