How to create an innovating and personal logo

by Merle van Wieringen

Who doesn’t want to have an own personal logo? Something that screams where you stand for and matches your personality. This blog will help you create and design your own logo, but also explains where you have to pay attention to while making it real.
First of all: creating a personal logo can be as well the easiest task for you – but also the hardest. But what is the easy part about it? Well, you are as free and expressive as you want! After all, it’s your own logo so you can decide for yourself how you want to personalize and design it.  On the other hand, it can be hard because you have to reflect on yourself a lot. You have to ask yourself 'what fits me and how can I express myself?'.

Don’t worry, we got some steps for you who will help you create a professional, creative and personal logo!
First of all, you have to figure out how you want your logo to be perceived. Start by thinking about what you want people to think when they see your logo. Do you want it to be a casual brand, or more like a sophisticated and sleek design? You can use only the colors black and white, or you can go for a colorful design.
Selecting your color branding means figuring out which colors suits you best. You can start by choosing your favorite color, but you can also match your logo with your eyes color or even your favorite food for example.

The second important thing is knowing your audience. The audience is your boss, because without them, your logo will not be succesful. As said before, giving your own twist is important, but you also have to keep your audience in mind. Find out what they like, what their interests are and what they would like to see. Try to match your own personal preferences with those from your audience. This will help you get a successful logo.

As third, you have to think about the tone that you want your logo to have. Do you want to use humor for you design or do you prefer a more serious design? Search for a tone that really fits you. Keep adjusting the tones until you have one that fits you and is achievable on a daily basis.

Last but not least: start creating and designing! It maybe sounds a little difficult now, but if you follow these steps, your logo will be done before you know it.
